Greg is a full time pro whose performances have taken him to over 60 countries on five continents. George Carlin said about Greg, "This guy's f****ng funny!" Some testimony. In a moment of weakness I convinced him to share his "Comedy & Magic" act with us, all of it - not just the effects - all of the gags, jokes, and bits of business that make those effects memorable. A couple of bits have already gone into my own show, thanks Greg!
This is Greg Otto's "packs very small, plays big can be done under virtually any conditions" act. An act that can be done for practically any size of audience. The TORN & RESTORED BILL is his very funny, rapid fire, opening routine, which ends in a couple of great sight gags, that can be used in other money tricks too. His method for CARD TO FLY is amazing in its simplicity, and the effect on an audience and unbelievably strong. Like the bill trick, there are gags in this routine that can be applied to almost any other card effects.
Greg likes to end a trick with a laugh and his CUT AND RESTORED ROPE routine does just that. You will mine a plethora of adaptable material in this easy to do triple restoration. Also on the disk are his performances and explanations for the HIMBER RING - M. O. A. B. - BALOON ANIMALS (sort of) and more. The DVD concludes with Greg's no gaff ADD-A-NUMBER (the method flew by both me and John Carney...)
After the performance Greg sits down with me and discusses his methods and the thoughts behind them - with nothing held back! Believe Leonardo da Vinci who said, "Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication!" Greg's material has that in spades! He will teach you his super easy methods, strong effects, and hilarious presentations, which are the keys for creating an unforgettable entertainment experience for your audience.
You probably know how to do the tricks, now learn to present them in a memorable way!

I have a lot of magic dvd's and Greg Otto's video is at the top of my favorite. He's a funny guy with some very funny, easy, and usable material to add some comic relief to my repertoire. I'm usually excited when buying and viewing a magic video and thinking 'yes, this is going to make my act great', but by the time I get midway through I'm fast forwarding to the end. However, Greg kept me enthralled with each effect. If you want to learn how to make your audience laugh you'll have plenty to pick from here. Thank you for sharing with me.

The production quality of this video is excellent and professional. I ordered this because I am interested in seeing how comedy is added to the presentation of magic.
I was totally taken back by the simplicity of what generates comedy. The average everyday words that can make people laugh. There seems to be no scripted genius wording or patter that is connected to each routine presented. The comments or gags are generic and can be adapted to any trick or routine a person may be currently performing.
Greg is a personable person, I guess I would say, he is a laid back personality that anyone would accept as humble in his nature.
If you have been around magic tricks for any length of time, most all his tricks are standard magic, the twist he puts on them is the simplicity he apples to all his methods. Nothing is to hard for the average magician or even the beginner.
I found myself thinking, really he is performing such simple tricks and methods, while getting away with them, with his audiences and making a living performing in many of the premium places as the notable performers of the day.
This is lesson in it is not what you do, but how you do it and how Greg Otto does it is very well. He is not a fast paced hurry up kind of guy. Every trick is allowed to sink into the minds of the audience.
The notable tricks I will try out is the Add-A-Number mental effect, and his use of a little used forcing deck. And how to apply comedy to material. Just memorize common comments and insert them a the appropriate time to your material.
In today's world knowing what to say is especially important as someone always seems to be offended and wants to tell you so.
This material and patter is appropriate for all audiences including family with children.
I recommend this for the material and as a learning experience for the inexperienced magicians that wish to do Stand-up or Close-up magic. Learn how to interact with your audience in a way that they find funny.
