
The full-evening show lasted two and a quarter hours.
PART ONE
He opened with rapid production of live stock from various
types of apparatus, finishing with a large bowl of water, then a larger bowl
of fire. Then followed the Aerial Fishing, the fish being dropped into the
bowl of water previously produced.
Three doves were produced in a net. The first two on the stage in the usual
manner and the third whilst in the audience, One of the doves was vanished
by a flip-over box.
Next were various card manipulations followed by his rising and floating cards.
The Barrel of Diogenes was performed producing a bearded assistant. This was
followed by the transposition of the heads of a black and white duck, and
then the Floating Ball was performed.
Next was the Levitation of Princess Karnac, using the Kellar floating lady
effect. (Asrah was not added until later.)
Two more illusions followed; The costume trunk mystery and the vampire illusion.
A third illusion was next where male assistant changed into a lion in a cage.
Concluding the first part was "A Bit of Fun" with two children during which,
among other things, a rabbit changed into a box of candy.
Enormous bare-handed production of silks, which changed into
a girl after being pushed into a large bottomless vase. This was followed
by the Spirit Painting, producing two paintings on canvasses.
The Magic Crystal and a Spirit Seance followed, and comedy was introduced
by means of a stooge.
A girl was produced from a glass-lined trunk, then Spanish
dancers were produced from grass mats which had been rolled ito tubes.
Living Shadows was next, where he did hand-shadows of animals on an illuminated
screen and then produced the actual animal.
The Triple Mystery. Girl vanished from a cannon to appear in a nest of three
boxes which had been suspended from the dome of the theater during the evening.
The Bungalow Illusion where shadows of people were seen before they were produced.
The show finished with the spectacular water fountains, which spurted from
wherever Thurston touched.
